Shops don't have a data problem.
They have a memory problem.
Every shop already knows how to fix the cars it sees. That knowledge lives in a few heads and a filing cabinet of closed tickets. AutoDX exists to make the tickets do the remembering.
The best diagnostic database is yours
A national database knows what breaks on a Civic. Your tickets know what breaks on the Civics in your zip code, in your climate, driven by your customers, and exactly what you did that worked. AutoDX ranks that first. Always.
No number without a source
An AI that invents a labor time or a price is worse than no AI. Every estimate line shows where it came from, every diagnosis lists the repair orders behind it, and when confidence is low the software stops and asks a human. That is a feature, not a limitation.
Made with a shop, not for one
AutoDX was built alongside an independent shop in Central Florida. The Bay Board exists because a TV was already on the wall. Comeback Radar exists because a customer came back angry. Florida's written-estimate rule is built in because it had to be.
Your data is not our product
Each shop gets its own database. We do not pool your repairs to train anything, sell parts leads, or share your customers. If you leave, you take everything.
What each one is for.
| Question | Shop management systems | Generic AI chat | AutoDX |
|---|---|---|---|
| What is it built around? | Invoicing, parts ordering, payments | Whatever you type | Your shop's repair history |
| Does it know what you fixed last month? | It stores it. It does not use it. | No | Yes. That is the first thing it checks. |
| Can it show its sources? | n/a | Rarely, and not yours | Every diagnosis and every estimate line |
| Will it stop when it is unsure? | n/a | No, it will guess confidently | Yes. Approval gates and stop rules. |
| Do you have to leave what you use? | You are already there | n/a | No. It imports from it. |
| Who owns the data? | Read the contract | Read the terms | You. Own database, full export. |
AutoDX is not a replacement for a point of sale. It sits beside one and makes the shop smarter.
